Q. Who is a member of the HOA?
A. You are! If you live in the Glen Oak or Estates of Glen Oak neighborhood, your deed restrictions require membership in the HOA. Here is our neighborhood map if you are unsure if your house is in our HOA. There are 512 houses in the HOA.
Q. Why do we need an HOA?
A. The purpose of the HOA is to uphold the deed restrictions. The primary responsibilities include taking care of the common property that our neighborhood owns, but is not part of anyones personal property. This includes 54.3 acres of common property and 9 ponds. The deed restrictions also established the Design Review Board which provides guidance and approval on property changes.
Q. Who is on the HOA Board?
A. Your neighbors! The board positions are unpaid positions and simply people volunteering their time. The positions are elected by members of the HOA (you!) during the annual meeting. Every member has a say in how the HOA is run and your input is welcome! We all have the same goal of maintaining and improving our beautiful neighborhood.
Q. Are we allowed to put up a fence on our property?
A. Per the deed restrictions, fences are not allowed.
Q. Why do I see fences in the neighborhood?
A. Fences are required by state law for swimming pools. Approval for a swimming pool is required by the HOA Design Review Board, Orange Township and Delaware County.
Q. Are we allowed to put up a shed?
A. Per the deed restrictions, sheds are not allowed.
Q. Are we able to change the deed restricts to allow fences or sheds?
A. Yes, the deed restrictions outline the process for making amendments. As mentioned in the Amendments section, changes do require at least 2/3 of the homeowners to agree on the change (342 homeowners).
Q. Who maintains the neighborhood streets and removes the snow?
A. Orange Township maintains all the streets within the neighborhood. Their contact information is on their website.
Q. Who is responsible for lawn mowing?
A. Each homeowner is responsible for mowing their own lawn. The HOA handles the lawn maintenance for the neighborhood common property.
Q. Who maintains Glen Oak and Ro Park?
